Great post. I'm one of those who benefits from technology. I'm a missionary in a closed country. There is no church for us to attend in this country so the web provides us some great resources. Podcasts are a regular part of our lives providing much needed teaching. We try to meet 1-2 times a month for worship with our team of 20+. Usually church happens in small, organic settings, meeting a friend for coffee, taking a road trip together, thats when sharing, counseling, encouraging happens.

Is it a substitute? Hardly. As a former worship leader there are days I crave being on the stage with the band leading in worship. I miss getting together with friends at Starbucks and spending hours talking through what God is doing. But it's the only option in a land where there is no church.
